I've got a internally standard AE101 20V 4AGE in my AE86, and am looking modifying it.
I have th following mods currently:
- Microtech LT10s
- 4-2-1 Extractors 2" system Hi flo cat
- Custom plenum that bolts to the Quads w/K&N Pod Filter
I want to extract some more NA power, but such that it's still streetable. I'm looking at around 272/264 degree cams for a bit more urge. I've already got a TRD 0.8mm MHG ready to go when for when I crack the head open
Who apart from Toda or TRD make preformance cams for this head? Does anyone have cams in their 20V and can comment on gains / driveability?
If I'm running cams of this duration (and corresponding increased lift) will it require heavier valve springs? If so again who makes them aside from Toda or TRD?
Should I get the head cleaned up / ported at the same time?
Thanks in advance Toymodders.

Fletcher - I would give Toby at Meridian Motorsport in Victoria a cal onl (03) 9553 4200. He should be able to give you a couple of cheaper options as far as cams go, and also point you in the right direction with other ways of getting a bit more power.
Cheers,

local manufacturer tighe do them.
i dont think going to 272/264 will be worthwhile... the gains will be pretty minor and wont be good value for money... think about cams over 280 and dump the vvt for adjustable camgears...
i agree
it is all there. compression(especially with your metal HG), quads, ect. theyre a tough motor. get big cams.
