hey there, hopefully someone can help me out,
I got an '81 hilux w an 18rc in it for free off my mate who blew the timing cover open. Now i happen to have perfectly fine 18r from rt104 corona at home.
What I want to do is get either the 18r out of rt104 and into the hilux or, at very least, scab the timing bits off 18r and slap onto 18rc.
eyeballing, it there doesn't seems to be any reason why they wouldn't swap straight over
except for one issue.
18r = front sump 18rc = rear sump
As I don't really want to go into all the timing chain blah I was thinking of jus taking sump/oil pump off 18rc and swapping with sump/pump off 18r
in my book for the rt104 the oil pump doesn't seem to have mating marks/notches and looks as though it should jus turn around in situ. also numbers of bolts match etc
so whaddaya reckon, will my sump plan work or no?
Itll swap over no problems.
