4age Starter Motor Problems?

Hey guys.

Bigport is in the 22'....works like a charm when its started....
hits 4k and bam, off you go...

only problem i have atm is starting the bastard...
it feels like the starter motor gives up..

like a cha cha cha cha chowww....sorta digs in and dies...

battery is a 500cca mother... and ive charged it / filled it...
i dont think that should be the problem...
alternator is charging...

any thoughts?

Maybe the starter is on its way out. Mine recently died in my corolla so perhaps you have a similar problem.

(how do i check if the 5th injector is working?) maybe thats it?

I pulled mine down after removing it and it was just full of carbon dust and the internal contact was quite black from sparking. A clean up and after putting it back in its given me no trouble but all it was doing was clicking the solenoid but not turning.

Maybe check your earth and power wires first.

The car will "run" perfectly fine without the cold start injector, it is only used when cranking and the engine is cold.

So to edit, the car should start without the CSI, albeit poorly.

once it starts. its a dream...
leads look fine.
i think its the starter.
hard to clean internals? fix internals? replace bits?

Not really, pull the cover off, pull the bits out, blow the dust and shit out of it and rough the contacts to get rid of the burnt stuff and then put it back together.
