Default Lexus IS200 / Toyota Altezza spherical bearings adjusted arms

    hello everyone.
does anybody used spherical bearings suspension parts?
I'm planning to produce a front lower arm for my lexus is200 with spherical bearing to castor adjustment.
we're already produce one for test, but bearing what we use is a crappy one.

i need advice - where to get a good spherical bearing with internal diameter 22mm.
ideal will be spherical bearing rod-end with internal diam. 22mm with seals

i've found one, but noone sell it here in Russia or international via internet.
this is a german company Fluro
    D=22mm

    seals like this:

e-mail them and ask for the size you want, they may be able to help as they dont list everything.

22mm is very close too 7/8 inch, for manufacturing they may be the same. ie nominal size v's actual size.

Good luck, tell us how you go.

Also, most rod-ends you can get a larger size than the bolt (or whatever is going into the rod end) and have the 'adapters' custom machined to the I.D. you want/need as well as the length necessary beyond the rod-end center section.

Good suppliers here in Australia are Linear Bearings and Racer Industries. A google search should bring both of them up.
Now - RA23 Celica - Charade DeTomaso - VW Type 3 Squareback - VE Ute
    Gone - KE10 - KE15 - KE35 Club Racer - TA22 - AE71 Corolla

Mine were about $80ea from memory.
    I needed 6 of them.

Normal spherical bearings cannot handle shock loads so are not suitable for automotive suspension use (or dont last long).

The RMT series im using will handle shock loads.
I was told when i bought them that the Adelaide Uni SAE and a few V8 super car teams use the same ones.

    Hmmmmmmmm VERY interesting product!

When I bought my Gita the pass side lower control arm was bent.... took it too an alignment shop and before I could stop them... they BENT the other lower control arm to compensate!!!!

(2 red arrows in middle of page)

I ended up having to buy BOTH!!!!

boo50 - can you also make it with the stock mount?? That particular lower control costs about $135, and if it were adjustable... it would save some $$$$.

5/8 thread will be more than strong enough.

Alot of poeple use smaller joints but i decided to go over kill because of the planned drag use which will see alot of load transfer due to the grip of sticky track.

    Im using 5/8ths hole & 5/8ths thread.
The Linear Bearings part number is RMT 10X5.

The only problem is they dont make a LH thread version.

Did the spacers you are using have a sleeve to go from 5/8 to 12mm? The wall is thin but should not be a problem.

What size do people use on the diff end of the panhard? is a little over 20mm from my quick measurements

i've find one friend in germany, who helped me to buy Fluro bearings (the ones on the picture in post #1).
    will try them.

oldeskewltoy, *) we don't planed mass produce w/ "options" i think you can modify your bented arms, or buy toyota ones

we also have one interesting thing for is200/altezza - quick steering knuckles, also working as roll center adjusters for lowered cars

    we've finally did it
    just need to be painted...
I can't find any simple solution with rod-ends, so we just use a spherical bearings from Russian truck "MAZ" and have made everything independently.

    p.s.
if anyone here interested, PM me.
also in future you can change the bearing with any other in 25mm external diameter.
I've also ordered japanese bearing IKO, which is 100% the same in sizes.

sorry for my poor english guys
