Default 22RE crankshaft bolt - how to get off

The bolt on the front of the crankshaft (22re in corona) seems to be seized. Can anyone confirm if it supposed to be right or left hand thread, or has anyone else had extreme difficulty trying to remove it?

    I have tried:
-ring spanner and hit it with a hammer
-long wrench with socket and used starter motor to try and turn
    -rattle gun

    Normal thread.

What happened when you tied the starter motor? I'm assuming that you've been trying with a 6 sided socket and not a 12...

The last one I did was really tight...but the engine was out of the car with no starter (and I don't have air tools), so I resorted to using a cold chisel and hammer on the flat large washer type edge of the bolt... it came eventually

    Cheers

I recommend heat, Inox (or wd40), a few taps with a big fuckoff hammer to loosen it if it's rusted, wait 5 mins, more inox, then starter motor + long socket.

This worked on my 2jz, and they're notorious for have STUPID torque on them. (354?)

You'll save money on towing....not to mention all the extra time you'll have not spent working on it.
