Hi Guys,
Anyone know if the Beams intake manifold will bolt up to a GEN 3 3sgte or possible to do a complete head swap![]()
Cheers

I don't think they will bolt up but you can interchange the head but, i think some kind of mod to head or block might be required.
There are also conflicting reports on weather the the beams manifold can handle much boost, some say its good for upto 20 odd psi but not many ppl will be able to confirm this....yet.
Buy BEAMS engine, fit rods and pistons, add 30psi, then make new manifold when it all goes pop. Fun.
doubt it they look like they have a different flange (but i could be wrong)Originally Posted by Puffy
head swap is doable but then you need all the timing cover and everything else to run it, as mr shin said it would be easier to put 205 rods and pistons in the beams engine (not sure which rods are stronger but id assume the 3sgte ones)
cheers

Then you would have to try get an ECU that would be able to control the VVTi.... ohh the fun never stops![]()

I have a Beams inlet manifold at home, and I also have a Gen III 3S-GTE...
The flages are quite different...
But, on the Beams, the runners are round... And on the Gen III, after the flange, the runners are round and about equal diameter to the Beams ones...
I'm yet to do a complete comparison between the two as I left the Gen III inlet manifold in Canberra when I picked up the new motor, but I'll have it it the not too distant future...
At this stage it looks very possible that it could be of use by removing the Beams flange, and welding a Gen III flange on...
a full head conversion would be good somthing diferent in a gt4
have any of the guys in the US or UK done this some one there might know?
Confirmed, the BEAMS head, and manifold are totally different from the
3S-GTE's. I had the manifold off a BEAMS to physically check.
cheers Chuck.

UCF11 Celsior daily, RS56 Crown ute under construction, 2 x TA22's awaiting rebuilds. RS41 needs brakes!
However the caldina intake manifold will bolt up to a gen 3 3S-GTE
so if you want a side-feed that is an option
also a Gen 1 3S-GE Manifold (also side-feed) bolts onto a Gen 2 3S-GTE
the beams head has a combustion volume of 33ccs and the gen thre head 54ccs so be carefull with pistons and compression ratios and the flanges are totally differrent chuck took his off to check for me for my ra28 3sge rwd conversion
