Hey guys, okay, im just asking about the engine and gearbox, not the car its coming from or going to...
If i buy a auto 1jz motor loom and computer, and a r154, do all i need is a manual comp? Or are the looms different..?
Reason i ask is i have an r154, and am hoping to pick up a 1jz tomorrow with auto comp and loom. But if i need to start sourcing heaps of stuff, i wonder if its worth while just getting a manual cut and selling off what i dont need..?
Also, if i do only need comp, or if i need comp and loom, anyone know where i can find one/who might have one they dont need?
Cheers,
Jase
Hello when i first did my conversion i didnt even run manual computer i kept auto computer and loom obviously Neutral switch need to be wired as well as reverse lights but had my mate do that up for me ran-drove fine but never really had it tuned etc before i changed to microtech ecu so dont know if it was running lean or whatever but yeah im sure any problems could have probably been tuned out..
Dunno if this is any help im still a toyota Noobbut its my two cents worth
Yep auto ecu can be used to run a manual box by bridging the neutral start switch.
AFAIK looms are pretty much same between the two, apart from the auto having some extra wires for the box as they are electronically controlled.
exactly whta i wanted to hear
