I'm still having troubles getting my 1JZ MX83 Cressida to run and stay running, we have so far pretty much narrowed it down to the ECU.
So I would like to test that the ECU is actually the problem, before I hunt for a new one (will probably go aftermarket).
I'm wondering there are any JZA70 owners out there who would be willing to plug in my ECU in your car to see if it starts, or vice versa? Please? I'll pay for the shipping if needed (with a trustworthy forum member)
I don't know anyone in the Gold Coast area with 1JZ Cressys or a JZA70. I can drive it up to Brisbane if needed.
The ECU I have is from a JZA70, and is for manual transmission, my car is manual. (However the manual ECU should still start an auto car)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a bit iffy as to whether or not a JZA70 ECU will start an auto car.
I know an auto ECU works with a manual car, but not the other way around. I'm willing to try your ECU on my car if you become desperate. Jump on Yahoo auctions and look for a JZX81 auto ECU as i beleive it'll fix your problems

Cheers for the offer. I'll try replacing the capacitors this weekend and see what happens. If it still doesn't work I'll send it your way![]()
