My current diff is close to completely dying it started screaming and i could smell burning the other night.
I am set up to swap it over but I wanted to know regarding the removal of the diff. Is there enough play in the drive shafts going to each wheel to get the diff out. Or do I have to unbolt the rear control arms(not sure if that is what they are called) to get some horizontal play so I can pop the diff out.
If anyone has done this and has some tips I would appreciate it as I plan on swapping my diff over on friday or the weekend.
Thanks

IRS or live axle? I found the easiest way to remove the diff in an IRS corona is to unbolt the whole rear subframe from the body. There will be some bolts on the bracket above the diff and the crossmember under the back seat. The bolts for the crossmsmber are accessable when you remeve the back seat. Its the easiest way rather than fighting to undo the diff mount bolts themselves that will be caked in shit and be hell tight and have shit access. Just make sure you disconnect both brake lines before you lower rear subframe down.
