Have been searching high and low, and obviously in the wrong places for info on converting the front drums on a RN31 hilux to disk brakes...
Only info i could find was soemthing on a RN41 came with front disks standard, and will bolt straight onto the RN31 by changing the hub and backing plate ect..True??
Any help would be great,

Probably true but you might want to check the ball joint arrangement before you get carried away.
I know 30 series and early 40 series Hiaces had balljoints which both pointed down, and the the RH41 onwards had a more conventional arrangement, with the lower ball joint pointing up and the upper ball joint pointing down.
I can't be 100% sure that it isn't the same for Hiluxes of that similar era.
You can do a front drum to disc brake conversion on an RN31, not sure if say for example an RN41 setup would fit, i know a place that can get a disc conversion kit (DBA) for an RN31. Ring around some places that do aftermarket bits explain what your trying to do. I could can get some photos of my front brake set up if you like to compare to yours.
hey mate, my RN31 had drums i simply took the spindals all complete off a RN41 they bolted straight up. easiest conversion i have ever done.
cheers leroy
