Vacum line length - Will it effect boost response???

Im about to install an eboost2 into the corolla and I was wondering if it would make much of a differance if the soliniod was on the other side of the engine bay from the wastegate?
Main thing is I dont want to do slow down boost response by putting it to far away

that depends where the restrictor is...

for the sense line to controller...
if there is a restrictor near the engine, then it could slow response (as it fill the line between engine and controller, thru the restrictor)
but if there is no restrictor, or it is close to the controller, it shoould be ok.

for the line to the wastegate... well.. i dunno exactly how it works.. but it's the same principal... a large tube with good access to pressurised air will change pressure quickly, but if restricted, then response slows...
in vague handwaving explanations...

edit: the MS guys tried some long length of rubber tube for the MAP sensor.. (like 20feet??) and found it to not make much difference (was not a restricted line), but that was vacuum and not boost.... and not a boost controller

i tried to plubmp a cheap-ass boost guage with the rubber type vacuum line and it didnt seem to work at all.

the run was quite long so i went and bought a different type of guage that used the thin plastic vacuum line at it worked fine, even with the long run.

dunno if that helps...

why would you put it on the other side of the engine bay?
general rule for most things on cars: smaller/lighter/shorter = better (yes there are exceptions, but I'm 2 glasses of shiraz past caring)

only reason to keep it away from the turbo is it wont stand out as much to the police
but it seams the small amount im talking about wont change a thing

i dunno if it helps much but the instructions on the turbosmart boost tee thingo say to keep the line as short as possible, or it will get weird results

I'd be keeping it reasonably short, mainly because the EBOOST doesn't have much adjustability.

Ideally, to give the best response for a very dynamic signal, the tubing should be like my penis when it's ready for use with the ladies - short, thick and stiff.

Long and/or thin tubing increases resistance whilst a soft walled tubing has increased compliance. All of this will lead to a dampened signal with slow response to changes.

This is OK if the signal is slow to change, but if the signal is dynamic (eg rapid increase in boost) then the consequences of a slow response may be dire.

Screw being such a pussy, just leave the wastegate hose unplugged. Think of the benefits:
*Quickest boost building
*Reliable boost control
*You can tell your mates you're running 3 bar boost
*You'll get your own mug/chair at the local Toyota wrecker when you come in for another engine several times a week. He'll treat you with the respect that is only deserved of his best customer (which you will now be) and be happy to stand there and yarn endlessly with you every time you come in.
