Default Any problems using a strut brace with a MC stopper with ABS?

    Hi Guys,

Just got my lovelly new strut brace from carbing for my car, threw up a thread on Supra forums about it and someone mentioned that they had read that you should not use an MC stopper on a car with ABS.

To me it kind of made sense as the way ABS works creates a shuddering effect of sorts, and this stopper would stop that to a degree...

I've seen a few websites out there that are saying, when buying the strut brace don't use with ABS....but you need to take everything on the net with a grain of salt...Nothing JZA80 specific though....

Anyone else heard of, or can explain?

If it isn't safe, easy enough to undo the nut on the strut brace and it's no longer engaged with the MC, and I'm still left with an awesome strut brace...

blagh - the stiffness of the MC, reinforced or not wont matter

the ABS pulses the pressue downstream, not upstream

infact, why have MC reinforcement on an ABS car anyway? the whole point is to reduce flex and have sharper responsiveness so you can more accurately feather threshold breaking - which the ABS takes away from you completely anyway

Cheers Ed, due to the limited range of strut braces for the N/A 2J JZA80, this came with a MC Stopper anyway, didn't go out of my way to buy it with one

Sorry can't give you rep right now, need to pass it around more...

more pics of the na brace?

and secondly, do you think theres a difference (other than engine bling ) in the suspension performance. the jza80 chassis and front susp look like it was built in a russian military factory - i didnt think itd benefit much from further bracing?

Didn't buy it as bling.......it's as part of a suspension upgrade of sway bars and coil overs coming soon, in preparation for some wakefield time...

Front does serious feel stiffer and it turns in better, I think, or it could just be a placebo effect...
