Noosa Hillclimb
meet at the Carseldine Caltex service station.
An early drive up to Noosa for a day of watching hillclimb action. With gate prices at nearly $15, it’ll be a day full of race watching followed by a late lunch near the beach before heading home.
Please let the club know if you are coming in our group so we know how many cars are travelling in convoy.
Route
I think we'll head straight there up the highway
take the Noosa-Eumundi exit
take the Noosa-Eumund road towards Noosa
left at Beddington Rd
left at Wust Rd
right at Doonan Rd
that roads becomes Smiths Rd
right at Sunrise Rd
continue on that road until the parking near the top of the hill that's above the hill-climb road
note: the last time we went up there, some of these roads had loose gravel on them (even tho they're sealed) so care should be taken to avoid paint damage ... plus where we park is usually the road verges or near the edge of the road.
If this will be a problem we'll go right into Noosa, take Hilton Terrace then the Cooroy-Noosa Road out to the hillclimb - there have some parking areas at the top and bottom of the course but i don't know about cost. There's also busses that run from the top & bottom of the course to parking areas.
note2: the landscape is hilly and rough - decent footwear is a must as is a chair and shade/sunscreen. They have motorsport food onsite (snags/burgers/softdrinks). If it's lightly raining they'll still run (plus it cools down the spectators).
cheers,
Charles.
Yeah, it was a good day. I meet Steve in his cool sounding Gt4, Adam in his Mr2 and the Chuckster in the Toyota ute. A nice relaxing cruise up but a bit of a jam on the way home.
I left at 3.30pm and got back to Brissy (with a quick run through Hastings st) at 6.45 pm. Really I should have been back at around 5.
It was good to see a 1975 TA22 rally car put to it's paces. Last I heard it was coming 3rd in it's class.
Look forward to the next event but can't decide - go kart or Willowbank?? what to do

Hay guys . Yeah i did end up 3rd in class , just missed out on 2nd(less than 1/2 second)
was happy with that seeing that was the first time up there and the first time i've run on tarmac.![]()
Should have made your selfs known , would have been good to talk toyotas.
I'll be having a private practice day a willpwbank (on the dirt) between now and Xmas , will let people know when, be able to come for a fang .
i did a long walk thru the pit area - but didn't spot the yellow '22 so after being distracted by the Bugati, i hung around one of the open wheeler racing cars who was being crewed by Terry Sharf (spell?) who's in our club.
Your car looked like it had the goods in the class - coming up to the big spectator corner (with the grandstand on the left) it looked and sounded pretty good
Hope to catch up with you one day!
cheers,
Charles.
