Hey everyone,
I'm trying to swap my stock gen2 3sgte fuel injectors with Sard 850cc ones.
The Sard injectors come with collars, and are SUPPOSED to be a direct swap - but I'm finding that they aren't...
THE GOOD:
The supplied collars fit perfectly and positioned the injectors at the correct level for fuel to enter.
THE BAD:
Firstly the supplied upper O ring is too big to fit into the fuel rail - I overcame this problem by using the stock upper O ring - seems to seal fine.
Secondly, the injectors are not sealing at the bottom - by a lot - fuel pisses out.
The Sard injectors have a smaller lower diameter than the stock ones, which can be seen in the attached pic (top is stock, bottom is sard)... also in the pic is the sard supplied lower O ring next to the stock O ring - again showing the lower diameter difference.
Anyone had experience with this? Any ideas?
Are there such things as 'lower' adapters that I could be missing?
Thanks,
Jeremy
After hours of trying different O ring combos, spraying fuel all over the shed and searching the net, problem solved!
The shop sent the wrong collars - I found this out by finding a picture of the correct 3sgte adapter collars.
What is amazing is how clueless the shop is, telling me I didn't even need the collars, to just 'bolt straight on, then ok'.
All these incompetent people *sigh* I didn't think changing injectors was so hard.
Moral of the story?
Changing injectors is easy. Just make sure the shop sends you the right parts.
