Some speed sensors are 3 wire, some are 2 wire.
Either way, that shouldn't have to be wired, but should go from the gbox to the ecu inside the loom.
The reverse light wires are behind the glovebox like all the other wires
hey all
I was rewiring a Z20 soarer but i guess this sort of thing is pretty general to wiring. First of all is there usually a place where the reverse switch wires are? like do they follow the speed sensor up to the dash or is it switched at a viriaty of places in the car?
And second on the speed sensor its a three wire thing and have been told that it gets 12V (or 5V) and GND and the third wire simply pulses. are these pulses the same as the wire to the ECU? so instead or wiring the speed sensor to the dash can i wire it to the ECU and then wire the other single wire to the dash?
Thanks

yes i know it "shouldn't" but it does, the mechs put in a 1JZ and ripped out the box wires, they then put the same box in and said "i dunno where it goes"
So your saying that i can wire it directally to the ECU? i have wired the dash to the ECU (with the pink wire if you know what i mean) so if i wire the speed sensor to the same wire it will work? Also the 3 pin one, do you know if that is 12V or 5V?
now that you mention it i think i do know where the reverse switch is to go, i can't believe i didn't realise the big REVERSE SWITCH on the plug wiring.
thanks
