I can confirm that the wiring diagram which i posted at the top is correct. Runs nicely.
ok have you got grey/red, grey/green, grey, grey white wires on the ecu side loom of the x4 box?

All sorted, the wiring pinouts i provided at the top are correct, its is a straight through ignition system,

same on my 4ag 20V in an ae86 with a lt10s/X4, Microtechs don't seem to drive enough current into some tachos. Apparently you can get a booster...Originally Posted by chris davey
I've got a Microtech manual & wiring diagram for the LT10s/X4 , and takai's wiring order is correct. I'm sorry I didn't see the thread sooner, I might have saved you some time.

the microtech tacho output is just a "non inductive" square wave, If you connect the 4 "inductive" signals that go to the coils (ie the output of the x4) to the tacho through some diodes it seems to work. That is if your car has an inductive style tacho.Originally Posted by psychofox

Thanks this will help me out!
I'm using an x4 with a wolf3d.
I'm curious, what are you guys hooking it up to?

I wanted to use an adaptronic.. But doesnt support direct fire ignition or single cam disk input triggering..
JustCallMeFrank I assume your engine is a v8?
EDIT
... hang on if it is a v8 then it should support seq ignition...
What engine is it? Why the microtech x4?
People use the X4 because of the price.
You generally will not find a cheaper ignitor if you need more than 1.
Adaptronic has 4 injector and 3 ignitor drivers.
I can't comment on the single disc input though.

What do you mean by single cam disk input triggering? I'm using the factory dizzy as a cam angle sensor.

I'm guessing he means something like the crank trigger discs you find on new cars (and older holdens).
ie, just the one disc, with a missing tooth, or a double tooth to indicate TDC

Yup Cruzida is exactly right.
Single disk on input cam with 5 teeth - double tooth to indicate TDC. Picked up by Hall Effect sensor. Wolf3d was the only ecu I found to definately support this straightaway.
As far as I know, the Holden V6 and the preGen3 V8 use a similar system, and most ecu's work with those motors.
