wasn't that answered in other threads already?
sump is deeper. mods to engine mounts. thats a start...
for some people, changing an air filter is too much work![]()
just go the 7K![]()
Ok heres the dilemma,i advertised my 5k motor and carbies, someone is keen as for it but NOW i am having second thoughts about selling it cause everywhere i read people are saying that it is too much work to fit the 7K in.

Do the 7K, someone has to. As I PM'd you it wasn't really suitable for a forced induction version without some work but still fucken cool for a street car.

Look at the car from eBay in the other thread. Maybe contact the seller?

NOS = badwhats the point having a motor built for the bottle when it will be crappier on the street??

you CANNOT get it registered with carbs on a 7K.... legally....

NOS works well for a hit when you need it,like at the track, not looking for a 200mph daily mate![]()
I thought about the qaud thing, might still look at it,injection perfection do a nice setup.![]()
Registration WTF!!!!, its regoed it will meet the emissions for its year, this is WA remember.
The biggest problem you run into will be the crank throw, need to keep the sump deep enough to clear it. That means either raising the engine or cutting the crossmember which will most likely cause problems with the steering. If you raise the engine you will need to look at gearbox angle and tunnel clearance, as well as clearance to the bonnet. Not impossible issues to overcome, but definitely points for consideration.

I was very tempted by this car, and I was in the blue mountains that week. I love the combo of old school looks with modern car reliability. All that held me back was the hope that a Carina or Corona coupe will turn up eventually.![]()

Thanks mate ive sent him a message asking a few questionsOriginally Posted by bnicho
Malcolm in SA has also fitted a full 7KE to a KE15 and it just clears the bonnet.
i don't see why it is such a problem?
you know it CAN fit, so put it in and make mounts so the sump clears the cross-member and away you go
you might need to fit it a little forward depending on the gearbox you use, and clutch change might be an engine out job... but these are things you can look forward to
