Try putting power straight to the starter and see if it does anything, it could be your ignition switch.
By kangaroo jump you mean clutch start? Or start it in gear?

I am the sun
yeah clutch in, tha starter turns but doesnt seem to be engaging
hi... if your starter mtr sounds as if it is running ...and it is not turning the engine over it could be that the small gear ( clutch ) that engages the flywheel is slipping....the simplest test for this is to remove your starter from the car...place it in a bench vice connect your jumper leads to it and when the small gear throws out place a piece of wood against it...put some serious pressure against it..it should burn into the wood and not slip....
cheers leso
mayb it could b tha pinion
