Default EFI stuff for Supercharged v8?

Hi guys looking for some advice. I am in the process of fitting EFI to my worked 302 windsor. Have the manifold, t/bs. Now with this setup, i want to run is as an NA motor until i can afford my blower. So it needs to be a programmable ecu. With the blower i want about 550rwhp or thereabouts

Next thing i need is injectors - i was looking at some 1600cc Bosch ones, but think they might be a tad overkill. Any suggestions?

And then i need my ECU - ive been told Autronic are good? Suggestions?
    thanks for your help guys

    Blake

Consult a ford forum they'd be the best guys to ask.

i suggest you size them properly... 550whp is what? 650-700 crank? size them for 100hp per injector... 500cc? (did bill say 5cc/hp?)

unless you are running TBI then you need big injectors and a big flyback circuit

yeah was thinking 700'/ 800's would do the trick, but they arent the easiest to find in bunches of 8! Mainly all of 6/ 4's! Most sets of 8 are either two small or massif!

    because they are bogans?

you are only asking 130-140hp/L which is not much... and you have 8 pots.. so injector size will be small. your revs will also be low, so you don't need to worry about time available to inject (assuming you are not going toturn 7000-8000rpm like a toyota V8 )

use any of the many online injector sizing programs... or use megatune to calculate the required pulse width and check that against your time to inject

edit: TBI = throttle body injection = bogan injection

sorry 8500rpm is where my super victor manifold runs out of puff...and the bottom ends reliable to 9000 im told by my engineer...

So yeah about 7500 is where i'll use it to

Edit - the injection style im getting has the injectors in the base of the manifold, right at the head port entrance....

    so it's port injection.

for that rpm, you will need to calculate the required pulsewidth for a given size injector, and compare that to the time available to inject...

that will tell you what size injectors you need

what exactly is your budget? "reliable 7500rpm pushrod EFI converted s/c V8" sounds like a lot of money to me.

can i hit u up for a loan eh?

why can't you get two sets of 4 cylinder injectors?
    beer me!

Injectors Online sell injectors in any quantity you like and they have a pretty good range of sizes if you're after top-feeds:
    http://www.injectorsonline.com/indivprod.php?c=1

Better find out what type of injectors your manifold is built for.

yeah it has cost me shitloads. goes hard as now, just want it to go harder. If i can sort out traction and with that kind of hp, 10s should be very realistic id say.

buying two sets of 4 injectors is a possibility. cheers for that

Norbie and oldcorollas thanks for that, was going to rep you, but apparently i need to share it around before i can give you some? riiiight lol

being port injection, you'll have to get 8 injectors.

i'd suggest you get injectors that suit your current setup - large injectors make for shit idle and much difficulty to tune (for accel and decel) as small changes in injector opening times makes for large increases in amount of fuel delivered.

autronic is a bit over-the-top - you're not running a supertaxi, nor are you in need of sequential injection and CoP ignition

With a locked dizzi you cold run fuel+spark+thermo-fans+ on an ECU around the $1k mark or less (adaptronic? haltech? megasquirt?)

btw: 10's means don't come back without andra licence and roll cage and chute and ... you sure you want that? ;-)
