Arrow 88kw blue top cams --> 4agze : shim settings and clearances!

    Hi Guys,
Yes i know this sort of thing has been covered before but i can't find it.
My current understanding of putting 88kw blue top cams into a 4agze is that on occasion, a few shims/buckets need to be switched over etc but generally its pretty straight foward.
Unfortunately I don't have the original shims from the 88kw head that i could just switch out with my existing ones. This is what i have:

    1. 88kw blue top cams
    2. ae101 4agze with std cams and shims

I am planning on getting a mate to make the necessary changes to my head to accomodate for the 88kw cams while he is reconditioning it. However he has voiced that he needs the shim settings for the new cams that are going in. Does anyone have these OR are they in the workshop manual for 88kw engine OR are they definatly necessary?

    Thanks ppl

just use the standard shim clearances listed in the toyota manual, They are 0.006 - .010" for the Intake cam And 0.008 - 0.012" for the Exhaust Cam

Ok thanks heaps guys. So just to clarify, I just use the shim clearances listed in the toyota manual for the bluetop (88kw) toyota engine?

Are those shim settings listed the ones I need? (ie 88kw 4age shim settings), cause I don't have a manual.

what sort of power will you gain on average from this swap?,say running 14psi on a gt28r?
im not sure what cams i have got but my 4agte seems to start pulling extra hard after about 6000 at the moment although im only running 10psi on the gt28,maby its is just satrting to get into its efficiency?
    cheers

All accounts I have heard (+3) is noticably more aggressive engine reving, and noticably more power. 5kW gain is a great power gain for me, awesome.
