are these good enough?
this one is a 4age cam set, but the site says they are basically the same minus two cylinders.
you're gonna dimension these so they can make a billet am i right?
Anyone got some high quality pics of 7mge cams, need them to email to the Franklin cam joint in NZ for them to pass them on to their manufacturer .
Searched google and the couple of pics on Ed's site but they aren't perfect.

beer me!
There the ones I fouind on eds site, i'd like a better quality pic than the bottom one the top ones are toda cams and if I'm correct they are actually 4ag cams as pointed out by ed but used for illustration purposes only as they are essentially the same just not as big as the 7m cams.
The guy from franklin cams wants the pics so he can email them to the manufcaturer to overlay on current grinds and see how difficult they would be to make.

You better not be getting cams kiddo!
just talk to waggot or clive
end of story. will cost you $43 per lobe to do from waggot
any grind you want

Edit - Argh grinds. I was thinking billets for some reason, no good. FYI Rona, camtech will do them for 460+ GST here in Sydney if grinds are what you want. changes base circle by 20-30 thou only up to 262 advertised duration, not too thick a shim needed

if you want a can get someone to get some highres pics of the gte cams if thats any help

whatthe?: How can a grind increase duration unless it is a weld up and regrind?
I thought if you take some of the base circle and reshim it you would only increase lift not duration.
Clive will probably be able to do billets, check with him....

Ed I'd prefer not to get regrinds, like whatthe I want to maximise lift and majority of the regrinds/welds only manage about 8.2mm of lift.

According to camtech and C&B performance it can do both. Not the most desirable option, but waaay cheaper than billets. Youre limited in the duration change by how thick a shim you want to runOriginally Posted by chris davey

blagh - i dont even consider 'regrinds' and option... i meant weld and grind. by the term 'grind' i meant the ground profile.
i wouldnt 'regrind' (as in decrease the base circle) on a direct drive bucket type assembly if my life depended on it. also fwiw: regrinds can alter duration and lift very easily, not just lift.
weld and grind from waggots is about $43 per lobe inc gst

also in how harsh an aceleration profile the regrind results in. puts way higher side loads on the buckets and bores, and also on the vale tips. secondly, you will be prone to spitting shims more, both because of the increase thickness, and secondly due to the aceleration of the profileOriginally Posted by whatthe?
