Default MA61 with 1JZ Clutch options

I have a MA61 with a 1JZ installed. From its previous owner ( i don't think he knew to much about the car and did not know the people who did the conversion) he said its got a 1 tonne pressure plate installed. Now the problem is the clutch is so hard to push down (i'm over 100kgs) that i'm getting a workout driving the thing and it makes for slow and unprecise gearchanges and takeoffs. What other clutches have people fitted, just give me an idea or anyone with the same problem out there?? and how did you fix it eg: different clutch cylinder etc
I've got another car with a Brass button h/d clutch and i nearly put my foot through the fire wall when i get back into it~~

I have a heavy-duty pressure plate in my MA61, the clutch place said it has 50% more clamp than stock. The pedal is quite firm but it's still quite easy to drive, and I'm 60kg and skinny as a rake so it sounds like you have some ridiculous clutch setup in your car which is totally unnecessary. I had this clutch when I ran 12.49 on the 1/4 mile and there was no hint of slippage, so anything heavier than that is a waste of time for your average 1JZ.

I suggest you remove whatever clutch you currently have and replace it with a more suitable one. Have a chat to a clutch specialist (eg Direct Clutch in Brisbane) to ensure you get exactly what you need.

If you're not going to change the clutch, what is the point of this thread?

Didn't you read, i was hoping someone had the same stupid problem and was grasping at straws in a vain attempt at getting a lighter clutch pull at a small expense,( as the clutch is fine accept for the heculean might it takes to push it in i guess thats out of the question as changing the master cylinder will only do a very small amount

Get a larger master cylinder installed.

    wouldnt make that harder?

smaller MC = less effort, but the slave cylinder wont move as far with the same pedal movement

That will work but will also reduce the movement of the clutch fork... possibly to the point where it will no longer disengage fully.

Either get a new clutch or live with it.
