Cant see why you would have a problem with the Italian systems, as at end of the day they make nearly all of the gas systems, whether it be impco, weber or tartarelli. Even the stuff made by others eventually get traced back to being made under licence from weber/impco.Originally Posted by cambelt1

crowncrazy : i'd definately look at one of these injected setups. i spoke to my friend who is an LPG installed saturday who advised the piggyback computer that acompanies the LPG setup self learns - so you plug it in, run your car on petrol, the piggyback learns the pulsing of the regular injectors ect and sets itself up to run the gas injectors. bear in mind that the inlet manifold does need to be drilled and tapped for the gas injectors, and, a gas distribution block and convertor need to be mounted somewhere to supply the LPG.
hope this helps you.
Wow japanese injectors , thats the stuff we need
Who and where do we get any of this stuff in Aus
D
most *decent* LPG fitters/installers have access to this stuff now thru a company called AMR. there are probably others but this is who my mate is dealing with. HTH.
cheers i'll do a search on AMR

LPG has other characteristics that vary from petrol. To get the most out of it you really need the right timing advance curve, so a serious conversion to dedicated LPG would include modifications to the mechanical advance in your distributor, or ignition software in the case of modern engines. As I understand it (correct me if I am wrong) LPG needs more advance at low revs and less at high revs, whilst petrol likes less at low revs and more up high. Some crank up their static advance to run on LPG and end up with pre-detonation at high revs...which you cannot hear...and kill their engine. Not that I speak from experience or anything
