if i was you id go get a hks mhg or something similar. should be around 200-300 bracket to get a real decent one. i think youd be close to paying that for a genuine one anyways

also i dont think you should skimp on a quality head gasket unless you are really really strap for cash. its just one of those things where if you skimp on the quality of it itll only cost ya more to do it again sooner than you thought

Yeah, but im pretty sure that in a racing engine the head will be on and off, so using a slightly cheaper gasket more often works out in the end to be a lot better.

The stock units are near bullet proof.

yer i myself havnt herd of any problems wit hthe stock hg but yeah id still go get an aftermarket one. easily reusable also. know a few people on their third use of same headgasket and still goes fine. that why i would get a hks or similar for the main reason of being able to use it multiple times without fault

YES thanks but you ALL missunderstand my question.... "WHERE"!!!!! do i get the cheepest one NOT what one should i use!

i know there are a few different ones to choose they all work well i have never heard of a 1j blowing a gasket and yes head does come off every season or so at the least and thats only about 20 hours running so cheep is what i want

im sure a 2j-turbo one will do the same job also

    cheers

If you are going a stock gasket then Castle Hill Toyota are known to be reasonable with prices. Might be good to do your sums and see if its worth becoming a club member and thereby being able to use the members discount for CH toyota too.
