I've never played with them, so I can't really say, but I've heard both praise and criticism for the coils used on LS1's. I gather they have the transistor built in, so need no separate igniter. You can try upping the voltage going to the coils, see if that helps. Josh, I'd be looking at the settings, if you can change them. Both the EB Falcon and the SR20 I told you about run a Microleb with Bosch coils, and both run past 30psi and make a reasonable amount of power;-)

Josh, I'm guessing the spark plug gap is less than 0.7mm already?

yeah plugs are gapped down to .75mm
ill look into the dwell when i get it back on the road, computer needs a new map sensor anyway as 25psi just aint enough

Dwell can be adjusted on Microtech LTX ecu's, though I haven't messed around with them myself.

I'd reduce that gap a bit more.

From memory Norbie was having issues @ 18psi with 0.8mm
I think he dropped it to 0.6mm, but can't remember for sure.

    last OT

you could try platinum/iridium plugs perhaps, given the smaller electrode and more chance of igniting mixture...

or perhaps send an email about plugs to NGKspark.com.au and see what they recommend.... in terms of both type and gap..

shane as for coils i can say a certain 4age i know of runs LS1 coils to 9000rpm with wasted spark and no worries

LS1 Holden coils have a built in igniter unit into each one (as mentioned)
making them nice and clean to mount on the firewall too

a set of 4 trade was $70 if i recall?

also SR20 (bosch i think) coils/igniters are much the same but more $$

err, these LS1 holden coils wouldn't be made by Holden would they? They would be just some Bosch or similar?
Also what do they look like? You got a pic

How did you go about getting yours? Just walk into a wrecker and rip some of a car?

Wow, you really do like throwing money about!! Holden charge a mint for any of thier newish gear... even the VN/VP stuff is rediculous. The VP rear tail lights that go on the bootlid(the mini ones) are $240 new trade from holden... imagine what the coil packs are worth??
