oh man those ebay turbos are so shit, well mine has beeen going fine for more than 12 months on my 1G and has run up to 25psi and drove around every day on 24psi for 6 months
never ever had a drama with the turbo and still has no more shaft play than a new turbo

i do know a few people that have had wins with the ebay turbos but 90% havnt and thats enough for me to not take the risk. id rather spend 600 on a sec handy then a ebay turbo

also Mr Multivate the cost of rebuilding a turbo would be too high and out of your budget even if you got the turbo for free. rebuilding the turbo will be close to a grand and might as well hiflow it for the lil extra.

best bet would be find a near perfect sec handy for cheap and use it for its life. youd save costs and be happier in long run. especially if you are experimenting more than knowing exactly the characteristics and power you are going to create in the end.

it would depend on the turbo for sale id imagine! there is bound to be cheap chinese copies around by now!
id imagine there would be good turbos that you could get for a bargin and cheap turbos that you pay to much for on ebay!
its a hard thing over the net to know before you buy!

That is from 2004. I remember when this was going around. I seem to remember reading that they have changed the production process on them. Emp may have gotten a turbo after this change.

Here are some picture of a recent T70 failure... Happened about 2 weeks ago, after only been on the car for a month or so.

There a bit blurry, as I believe they were taken on a cammera phone, but you get the idea...

Looks nasty was that the turbo that was put on your bro in law's vl recently?

I may have a contact for good priced turbo's from a fella at work so I will investigate that option.
I am not out to build a drag monster, my stock turbo's are dying so I figure I might has well go single since I have to pull those turbo's off anyway. I am not out to get a yeu beaut flash turbo just something that will do the job till I want to get more serious with it.

No it's not off the vl...

Do it once, do it right
This is good advise... But if you need some pricing on a new turbo, let me know and I will see what I can do for you.

No worries I will let you know.

Anyone ever heard of these guys, do their turbo's look any better than the ssautochrome ones?

Some of them are quite well priced but being in the states is a risk if they are no good.

Quite well priced they may be... If you are in the US..

Take a turbo that they listed for $199, add the exchange rate plus $80+USD they would charge to get it here, then the risk of customs stinging you with import tax. That makes it around $380-400 before customs get there hands on it.

You could buy something local and know what you are getting, and also have a warranty to go with it.

Customs wouldn't slug you with import tax on something that small. The limit is up around $1000 now. That said, if I wanted a cheap turbo, I'd probably grab one of those KKR ones.

That doesn't stop them... My mate is waiting on a part from NZ that he paid $350 for. The other day he got a letter stating that i was seized by customs, and taxes had to be paid... On $350.
