Hi
have you checked you regulator? or bad battery?
regards fonzy
Hey Pppls, I was wondering what could cause the charge light to come on. So far I've replaced my alternator, spent the last three days stripped back the whole loom and fixing any dodgy connections and earths. But despite this every time I start my car thge charge light comnes on and stays on for 5 mins or more. I also noticed their is a very random/rare misfire. Could this be related? Could it be the regulator?
Many thanks
I.

2T-G - Half the valves but twice the fun.
check your regulator, and even your battery,
what is the system charging at? check your charge rate at the alternator and also at the battery, turn your headlights on and recheck the charge rate
A healthy charge rate will be high 13's to low 14's
Ben
what he said
measure the voltage across terminals of battery with car running
if theres charge its ok, if not its not charging and is alternator related
in my car i found the alternator to not be charging coz there was a wire disconnected so it wasnt engaged. simple fix lol

Punctuation is the difference between 'I helped my Uncle Jack off his horse' and 'I helped my uncle jack off his horse.'
Is the charge light coming on with ignition with the engine not running? If not then you would expect the light to come on when the engine starts.
