i think its going to be pretty hard to get a valve spring remover in there with the head on. because the springs are in the head (so to speak) its quiet hard to fit the correct tool onto them.
you can do the ol hit them with a hammer to get the collets to come out, but i think its a bit dodge and you can loose them.
i would have the head removed, then you can get the seals removed and possibly recon the entire head and a new headgasket.
also remember not to mix up the buckets, they are shimmed to the correct height per valve.
