has the car had a conversion done?
my mates twin cam is about the same, i would say that is normal for the car....
Hi ya all, just wanted to say i finally found an affordable AE82 Twin Cam (4AGE)......and love driving it ever since![]()
But do feel abit weird as when the car is in the 5th gear, curising at 100km/h...the rpm is at 3500rpm!!!! Never driven a car with such high rpm at 100km/h!!!
Therefore, is this common or did the previous owner modified the gearbox or etc???
Thanks people![]()

pff.. 3500rpm isnt far off idle anyways. these engines (4age's) love the revs.![]()
Yeh sounds right. My mates 4AC sat on 3000rpm at 100kmph.
My AE92 sits on around 3500 at 110km/h. It's so if u need to give a little squirt you don't need to drop a gear as your just in where they start to make useful power.

Yes is definately right to me aswell!! 4th and 5th gear are pretty close in the AE82's, mine has the same problem, but has been pretty good for changing since I had my Turbo Conversion done.
