    someone has to do it....

    fugggeennnnnn

how many times has this question been asked already?

simply by starting this thread you have shown that
    a) you haven't actually read the FAQ, and
    b) you didn't even look to see if this question had been asked before, and
    c) why am i not surprised?

So let me get this straight...

By Toymods making this decision you have completely f'd up my supply of second hand parts.

You will either get people with the parts I want going elsewhere, or with your rules you will just get people spamming the tech section to get 100 posts.

I have brought every single part for my car from the toymods site, and I EVEN BROUGHT MY CAR FROM TOYMODS.

Where else do you expect us to go for parts, parts for my car are nearly non existent and I relied heavily on the forums to souce the hard to get parts.

    Thanks

    well.... where do we start?

the decision is to allow people with reputation, sponsors, and toymods club members to post items or sale..

so that means.... unless someone is a forum sponsor or a toymods member (ie not dodgy hopefully) then they need to have EARNED THEIR REPUTATION, ie proved themselves useful, before they can sell things to you...

you prefer to buy from dodgy sellers?

and it's 40 REPUTATION POINTS, not 100 spam posts sheesh.. the whole point is to reduce spam. spam will not be tolerated, as voted by your peers....

    and it's BOUGHT, not BROUGHT....

parts for MA70 are nearly non-existant??? try finding panels for a KE15

stick around for a few weeks, and those with a decent reputation, and are not already members or sponsors or members, will have earned enough rep points to sell you your precious parts

The main reason for the 40 rep points and 100 tech posts is we aren't a free classified. We were sick of people just posting in the classifieds on the old forums.
Toymods is a technical website with a classifieds on the side. Not the other way round.

To add a couple more points.

Just because you can't post doesn't mean that you can't PM the seller.

You need 40 reputation and 100 posts in the tech section. So spamming the tech section won't work, it'll most likely give you negative reputation.

You need to earn your ability to sell stuff.

We have done this to help minimise the amount of dodgy sellers. Making it hard for dodgy sellers to sell stuff on Toymods is a good thing.

I'm sorry what the hell does my post have to do with my username?

A dodgy seller is going to get on here anyway,

Reputation - What is to stop people from giving rep to their mates for every post and vise versa?

100 Post in Tech - So to sell you have to either reply to as many post as you can with stupid questions, or to be a seller you also have to be a tech head. So basically if I was not very car savy (not all of us are you know) then I am a dodgy person because I can't get 100 posts?

And yes MA70 parts are extremely hard to find in most cases.

Oh and thanks for the personnal attacks oldcorollas, wow what a "friendly environment for car enthusiests" this is......

Gee dude, lighten up some. This isnt a life or death matter. And if you actually read olcorollas post in a non-anger-fed-seeing-red mode then you will see that it is actually quite friendly, with a little bit of jest on the side.
Just like Stewart in real life so i hear.

Hey im with Driftspec on this one, i can understand why you would want to stop people just using this as a way to sell parts, but what about people who honestly dont have the time to spend on the net to work up so many rep points or go into the tech section and spend so much time on here. all this is going to acheive is you guys losing out on members, even though all you hardcore toymod members think this is a great idea because you live on here but hey some of us have lives, and just like using this once or twice a week....I mean dont get me wrong i love my celica as much as the next toyota fan but by doing this you guys have just lost me
