Well they certainly do for RA23/28's. I spoke to them a few days ago and they do both a Red and Yellow. Strange they don't do it for TA22. The rears are from a Torana though.

Are TA22 struts shorter than RA23? If so then I assume the shock will not fit as the cartridge will be too long.

Depending on lowering etc you could probably get away with using a shorter strut in the front with a spacer underneath it to keep it at stock height, or you could cut and shorten the strut.

Best inserts for the shorter strut options woudl be either AE86 (only mildly shorter) or the SW20 MR2 Rear shocks.

So the SW20 rear shocks must be a cartridge type then to use them as front shocks in the '22 (or have I misunderstood your post?).

Should be about the same length. From memory my AE86 struts were thes ame length as the stock XT130 struts. And they look to be fairly similar to TA22.

I believe the 22s are shorter, XT130 is the same as RA23/28/40 (length, angle and mounting) You could cut down XT130s and put in shorter shocks to give the CHP convo.

Ok. I have an RA23 with Xt130 struts. Thinking I could use TA22 inserts as a short-stroke shock.

You would need a spacer at the bottom of the strut insert, and you will need to ensure that the tops fit also. To make a spacer, I would suggest using lathed up aluminium alloy, get it the right diameter, and also dome the bottom and concave the top, so its just like an extension on the insert. The alloy will give reasonable padding, while not compressing much. It also takes the shock loading from spring compression quite well.

TA22 inserts are hardish to find though, so SW20 Rears will do the same job, and much easier to find. Plus the SW20 is heavier at the rear end so they will be valved a bit harder.

I have koni yellow sw20 rears. i had them in my ke55 with a 40mm spacer underneath, they will be going in my ta22. They are not that dear, and adjustable.

So does anyone have direct measurements of the SW20 insert, both cartridge length and piston length?
