Parts for a 1GGZE alternator (27060-42042) are no longer available.
Does anyone have any experience of what it takes to install a universal alternator?
I expect a custom bracket and some wiring will be needed, but I'm interested to know what other people have done.

You are right. I can get brushes, bearing and other parts. Just not unique parts. I will keep that in mind.
That said, I did some more googling and have checked the alternator with some more understanding and it is charging correctly (voltage checked at the alternator and the battery show 14.5.V). I think I have a short somewhere that is causing the light to come on.
I'm still interested in how people have gone with non-factory alternators.
