Hey all
Bin havin a no start misery for 2 weeks now after upgrading my old link g1 plus to a new all singing all dancing G4 atom 2 in my jdm st205.
Problem...
When cranking im getting mad trig 1 errors.
On the G4 I have NE goin to trig 1. G1 goin to trig 2. G- to shield ground.
On me laptop its saying trig one voltage is 0.18v cranking. G4+ min threshold to fire the coils 0.20.
Engines done 180 miles and is still quite tight. Occasionally the rpms pick up and it hits 0..29v for a split sec and tries to fire n dies.
Ive checked all the basics and ladt resort is to close the air gap on the trig 1 reluctor to try n get her to fire.
Been thro 319 pages of the 4age manual and it just says replace dizzy.
Reluctor clearances are actually in spec (couldn't get a 0.4mm feeler in but could get a 0.3 in).
How do I tell which reluctor on the 3sgte is which? How do I reduce the gap for a stronger signal? Are they not fixed???
This is usually where Jondee chimes in and saves my a55 : )
Thanks all in advance
Chris

I don't have a 3Sgte distributor to stare at, but if it works the same as 4AGE distributor you should connect it the same way. So,
- Crank (rpm) pickup (multi-tooth wheel) one side to NE, other side to the sensor ground G(-)
- Cam position pickup (single tooth wheel) one side to G1 other side to G(-)
Note that it is usual for all pickups to share a common G(-) ground wire and the wire colour is often white. Seems that the ATOM only uses two trigger inputs so G2 wire is unused and does not connect to anything. Most especially it does not connect to the shield ground.
Here is a link that gives the general idea... http://forums.linkecu.com/topic/2653...rigger-wiring/
