Default Just one notification is enough

On the old forums we used to get just one notification no matter how many posts were made in a thread we are subscribed to. You would then get another notification once you visited that thread.
On this forum I am getting notification of every new post Can I changed this somehow??

That's odd behaviour. It's supposed to act the same as the old forums. Well it does for me at least!

I cop it too I got like 80 emails yesterday so I just went in and unsubscribed from all the threads (more than likely I'll read them on the forums any how).

I don't seem to get notification for *all* of them, more like half? it's weird, but I definitly get more than 1 e-mail per thread.

    Garr... Well that sux.

Not sure what could be causing this. So if you guys don't visit the forums at all (ie: no interaction with it), do you receive multiple emails on a thread?
I'm thinking it could be something like marking a forum as Read or something weird like that.

    Exactly!

I'll just add this message to get past the too short filter

This is a typical VB Forums thing.
Happens on every VB Forums I'm on.

You will received ONE notification per thread in the first instance.
As soon as VB Forums detect you visiting this forum again, you will receive ANOTHER notification (at the next post) REGARDLESS of whether you visited that thread or not.

If you visit the forums some time later, once again, you will receive ANOTHER notification.

This is especially annoying to people who don't have access to their email at work, but they do have access to the forums.
Say they just jump on the forums every hour or so, to check one thread, or even their PM's, they will have multiple email notifications in their inbox when they go to check it at home.

Thus far, I've never received 2 emails for the same thread in a period where I hadn't visited the forums.

Yep, it's done it to me without even signing in for a week or so. Most e-mails I've ever received in one go!!

In the usercp options, I change the

"Default Thread Subscription Mode" to "No email notifications" and I still get plenty of emails.
