long tweezers?
Hi.
Was doing the valve shim adjustment on the 1UZ when one of the valve shims dropped down the odd bank rear oil drain of the head.
I tried to use a magnet to pull it out but no luck.
looking for Ideas on how to get the shim out.
and will it cause a problem if I can get it.
can you see it?
long tweezers?

haha i dropped a washer from one of the head studs down one of those fuckers recently. had to take the sump off to get it
I dropped a dowel out of the cam on an 18RG, undid the sump plug and used a super magnet to drag it over to the hole and actually worked.
Yes the old Celica's are great cars thanks..

its way down in the Hole even in the sump, already tried a magnet on a welding wire its stop about half way down doesn't get to the sump.
I will get one of these inspection cameras with attached tool kit ( a magnet and a hook ) drain the oil and see if I can recover it that way.
The service manual make no mention/caution about these oil drains and dropping items .
to add to this setback while I was trying to recover the shim a bloody plastic hose clamp flew off and ended up down the same hole, now got both ends covered before who know what else will make it way down.
