yeah same here, but thats cos my carb is rooted, i woulda thought it would be a bit more economic being a twincam sports engine.

Yeah, I used to get between 350 and 400km from around 40 litres of fuel with my 2TG, stock with 9.8:1 compression and solexs.

    Cheers,.

Got a couple or so (5 at present in various forms) daily Driver stock 2tgeu gets about 10 l per 100km, worked 2tg on modified webers (rally car) can get as bad as 21 l per 100 k when competing, but driving normally about 9l per 100k. 2tg on factory solexes about 11.5 l per 100k normal driving. All are currently in ta 22's, but motors have been in other bodies from ke 10 to ke 55 before I finally got stuck in cellicas.

want better fuel efficency? EFI will help also doing things like a eletronic ignition and a cam can also help

its not easy but i can think of harder jobs,
fuel efficency is more about tuning and the potential for teh engine to convert the energy, pretty much EFI is a hell of a lot more accurate to tune and stays tuned in different weather while carbies dont, wokring the engine in the right way can get you more power from the same amount of fuel which will increase your efficency, im not sure what the STD 2TG cams are like thou

got to also allow for different ratios, much taller tyres, much lighter car signicant other modifications and the fact that when I drive that one on the road is normally done very very quietly as is a real cop magnet. Also look at the cosumption it gets under full noise is significantlt worse where as the 2tgeu will when given a hard time get no worse than 12l per 100k. So is a lot of reasons. Haven't actually had to swap 2tg to 2tgeu lately as i have a number of examples of both, so just use what is original.

Hard to say for me atm, havent had my car on the road all that long.

Just some figures for you, hopefully you can compare something:

    TA22 w/ 3/2T-G hybrid
    ~10:1 compression?
    twin solexs
    extractors
    stock internals

after it was tuned, I seemed to be using around $50 a week:
    Travel 30kms each way to and from work, = 60km x 5 days = 300km
    Using 98RON fuel, approx $1.40 when I fill up, $50 / $1.40 = 35 litres

So you could estimate mine uses 35 litres to 300kms

Really I dont think that sort of economy is all that bad, I was quite happy with spending $50 a week. Actually, I think I was spending around that amount a week with the 3T dunga in it, and that was only using RULP!! So I am pretty happy

    Hi,

Not a 2T-G, but I just got 420km from 35litres on my 18R-G - which has impressed me greatly. This was country driving where I cruised a lot of the time at 100-110kph. It's been a long tike since I got that sort of economy out of the engine.

Around the city I get 320km. I used to get around 270km in city driving before the carbs were rebuilt/tuned.
