Default JZX101 SPD signal + ecu pinout needed

    Hi,

    I have recenly almost completed a JZX101 2JZ-GE VVTi + W58 manual trans into a GX81 chaser.

car is running and driving great but i have 1 small issue, the engine light comes on when you start driving.

i have checked for codes and i get 78 and 42.
i beleive 78 is fuel pump related (havnt got the FPC wire hooked up, only the FC trigger wire) and isn't my issue.
code 42 is speed signal which is what is causeing the engine light to come on while under load, yet i have the signal connected to what i beleive is the correct wire (28 pin plug, pin 12)

does anyone have a JZX101 ecu pinout or wiring shcematic so i can confirm? seems to be a difficult one to find, i can only find jza80 and jzs160 pinouts.
i have a JZS155 pinout and the speed singal input appears to be on pin 4 of the same plug?

    thanks!

1 Remove speed signal from ECU
2 Put ECU to neutral/parking range (NSW to ground)
    This will eliminate DTC42
Note this trick only works on these old ecus like yours

Newer ECUs (JZS16x,JZX11x,etc) will have different maps for N and D range, and in D range limp mode will be triggered b/c of the lack of solenoids, in/out speed sensors etc

    p/s 1k Ohm, 0.25Wt from fpc to +b will cure dtc78

    Can confirm it worked.

so i have the STA wire wired to the starter motor trigger as per normal and the NSW wire is permanently grounded, no more engine light!
this also means there is no speed limiter as the ecu no longer has any idea of the vehicle speed.

i did not bother with dtc78 as it doesnt cause the engine light to come on (and i was out of 1k or similar value resistors).

it is raining here in Perth tonight so i will have to test it out on a "private road"
