I know a 3sge ST162 AFM works on a Levin/AE92 4AGZE can't vouch for a 4age
The AFM in my aw11 powered corolla has died and I need a replacement. I've read about the celica AFM and went to the wreckers and they all have different part numbers. Does anyone know of a cheap AFM that will do the trick and what part number can be used?

I'm sorry, I do have a 4agze out of an aw11. Can you tell me the number on the AFM please?
I can check in the morning if you dont get it sooner.
Sorry I don't know the number maybe try going to the ST162 dedicated thread and ask the boys there, the is only 1 that come on the 3sge in the ST162 a 3sfe one is differant.

I've had a quick look at toyodiy and each engine (3sgel, 3sgelc, 3sfe) all have diferent part numbers and is different again to the mr2 part number. When I look at the diagram in the repair manual the gze and ge meters are internally different and have different pin functions. As long as the wiring is the same I can play with the mixture adjustment via the screw and spring adjustment.
3sgelc is the version of the engine the Australian ST162 got (c means the enigne has Californian emission control fitted). yes they are differant to the 4agze item as they are larger, 3" through rather than 2.5" hence they will have a different part number to the 4agze item. But from memory the way the work and pinouts are the same.
I was using an ST162 3SGE one on my old levin 4AGZE the 4agze I had had AFM, CAS, and Coil packs not sure if it was levin, I think it could have been AE92 having the AFM

Thanks Drifty Midship, I bought a 3sfe AFM from the wreckers yesterday and it seems to be running ok. The problem is different part numbers on the same model, I guess its different calibration.
Nice work. I've got a 3SFE AFM running really well on my 20V 4age with some fiddling too.
