Default Replacing Innovate Wideband sensor with generic Bosch one

My 02 sensor is not reading correctly. I think the sensor finally died after being in a crazy rich car and then being transplanted to a mates rich, hot skyline and spending most of it's time unpowered.

    Yay..

Anyway - Innovate sell replacement sensors but they're in America and quite expensive. I know my sensor is a standard LSU4.2 from Bosch, but it has a proprietary Innovate plug on it which I think has a calibration resistor in it.

Has anyone just cut off the sensor and soldered on a new one and not had huge issues?

The calibration resistor is in the plug,
You will note that there 6 pins in the plug but only a 5 wire sensor.

Each resistor is lazer calibrated specific to each sensor,
so the sensor and the plug are one and must stay as one.

If you cut the wires and solder on another sensor it will be inaccurate.
Maybe out by a little, may be out by a lot?

If you want it to work properly get another one complete.

As I feared. Luckily it turned out that my mate who had my sensor before me had reprogrammed it to lie in the 0-1 range (emulate a narrow band) and that's why it wasn't working correctly.
