Ke70 Heater upgrade?

Hi

My trusty ke70 has for some reason a problem with the heater not heating enough in the winter. It gets ok Warm, but not really good and warm like the other ke70s i had in the past was. I have flushed the heater core, have nice and clean antifreeze, have a termostat that opens on 90 or 92 degrees C (dont remember wich), made sure the wirethingy turns the water all the way between hot and cold. Still the air coming out isnt as warm as it should be.

The fan motor seems ok but somehow it doesnt seem to blow as hard as the other ke70s i had did, even on full speed. I seen some nissans for example, have a simular kinda blowmotor/box as the ke70, i been wondering to just take the whole box from another car. Assuming its about the same size and have about the same size "ducting", that should be fairly easy, or is it something im overlooking here?

Im wondering if anyone of u have done simular, or have any other tips on how to upgrade my heater.

I reckon you're on the right track. Make sure your core isn't blocked, make sure it's actually getting coolant flow through it. Also check that the flaps that divert air through the core move correctly.

Getting the core and heater box out is a real pain because it is so far in under the dash. I'd hate to try and convert a different one to work given the location. It could likely be done, but why not get a good KE70 one, or reco a spare core/box?

And is the coolant getting hot?

Core is probably blocked, if its not blowing hard you have issues with air leaks in the ducting.

Seen blower motors block up with crap. Not sure if ke70 has any kind of mesh screen on the air intake.
