You car needs to be in a roadworthy condition (tho some cars a bit dodgy) but if it isn't spilling oil and looks like it won't fall to pieces than it will pass. You need a fire-extinguisher that is reachable whilst in the driver's seat. Battery sticker and a number on your car (they'll assign you one when you sign up). You don't need tow hook labels, just accessible tow hooks.
You need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated club (ie Austin 7 membership is $97.50 first time and ~$70 each year after). The day costs $110 to race (but you get a discount of $10 for being a member of Austin 7 club as they run the event). Also on the first day you race you have to get your cams licence (about $85) from memory. The L2S cams licence is for 1 year. So the first time out is expensive but what you are paying for is organisation.
Before I raced I went out to watch how the day goes and I would highly recommend you do the same. The next meet is July 15 and then you could come out 1 month later and race in August.
Have a look at the entry forms for more details and sup reg and cams website for all the rules but most cars will easily be able to run. The hardest bit is nominating a lap time to be honest.
