Hey peeps...
Need your collective wealth .of experience again and this ones a biggie! Its either REALLY dumb... Or genius... I suspect dumb... I just wanna check :-) ...
Ok coming from the oil drain outlet on the bottom of my gt2860RS im running a silicone bend to a hard pipe to another bend to the gen 2 sump. This pipes like 19mm and quite long running down at 30 degree ish angle. Ive cut the metal pipe and plumned in a metal T piece.
T piece vents upto a gen 3 catch can which drains back into the gen 3 head and has vacuum off.the turbo intake pipe.
Reason ive tried this is my last 3sgte (perfect compression) still had loads of crankcase pressure and loved losing oil under boost.
Both the rocker breathers (pcv and big one) are also goin to a second catch can draining to the head...
What im wondering...
1) Has anyone EVER. Used the turbo return to vent the crankcase on a gen 2 3sgte?
2) Is the drain below (pointless) oil level or above?
3) Do I need to tap a take off higher up in the sump or will this work???
Pipes so big I can't see it stopping the turbo draining...
Theres SOOOOOOOOO many breather set ups and I really dont know which route to go to keep all seals preasure free/leak proof.
Many thanks in advance.
Chris
i can see this working, apart from the train being so close to the turbo it should work.
although i could also see the gen 3 catch cans drain becoming another crank case vent too. but it shouldnt affect the catch can or turbo.
that's my opinion anyway
