Hit this guy up. I know one guy here in Canberra has used this kit on a 23, so should be good for your 28.
Hi
I am fitting a beams engine to my RA28 and am after some info on the best crossmember to use for this conversion, or if any kits are available.
Regards Glenn.

Or if you want to upgrade the steering while you're at it source a KE70 or AE86 crossmember. AE86 also has the power steering option.
Thanks for that.
I'm probably one of the few that have actually followed through to completion with a Beams conversion into an RA2x celica, using the KE Conversions kit.....
I went with the TA23 crossmember option, since I already had the TA23 crossmember making the conversion all the more simpler. The KE70 crossmember option is a good one, and Jordan will even source and modify a KE70 crossmember for you so you can be supplied with a full bolt in conversion kit (you just have to sort out the whole matching of KE70-RA28 steering column, but there are lots of guides on that).
All up, the conversion from start to finish took me 3 weeks - including the extra work going to quad throttles and aftermarket ECU (so worth it!)
I daily drive it, and love it.
...... butt scratcher?!
Nice job mate, I have just sourced a KE70 crossmember and steering rack and waiting for it to be delivered.
Thanks again for the help it is much appreciated.

Hi Witzl, you have such a beautiful setup and I'm totally inspired by your work.
Can you tell me the aftermarket ECU you used? As far as the engine/chassis wiring, did you use the wire loom/harness from the 3sge or the RA2x? How did you marry the 3sge engine wiring the the RA2x console? Are there any schematics you can point me to the map the wires? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
sorry for no reply till now - i didnt have notifications turned on for this thread.
I used an Adaptronic ECU, model e420c.
I'd recommend the newer e420d from Adaptronic, if you want to go that way.
I did the wiring myself. With an aftermarket ECU it's really quite easy - if you have an idea what you are doing. I barely touched the original celica wiring, just made up a new loom for the engine by stripping back the original beam wiring loom, and re-making it to suit the car and the new ECU.
If you arent up to speed with wiring, then perhaps look at the LINK ECU, which is quite popular in the USA, and then look at PANIC WIRING..... he does plug in custom made looms for AE86 conversions, which might be adaptable for the old celica.
...... butt scratcher?!
The Witzl, awesome and thank you.
