Default SOLD: SYD - TA22 Roling Shell

    Hi All,

I have for sale my restored TA22 shell. The shell was a ground up, bare metal body restoration which was done a few years ago. The build consisted of the obvious sand blast to bare metal, all rust repaired with either metal or factory original new sections, file finish with touches of bog/putty. Paint consisted of primer, base coat and then paint and followed with clear coat. Clear coat was never cut back and buffed as i didnt want to do that till the car was finished.

You can see/read the build at http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/thr...-Fire-Blood-22

It has since been sitting in the garage only ever being moved around when needed. As such there are a number of paint chips that have occured over the years from storage and moving, but nothing that takes away from the whole body itself. The chips could be repaired for a few hundred dollars or a full respray could be done.

What you will get is as follows:

    1) Complete Shell
    - Chassis
    - Doors
    - Guards
    - Boot
    - Bonnet w/ hinges and stay
    - Top Radiator Support
    - Splash Guards
    - Stock T series Engine Cross Member
    - Modified T series Engine cross member to suit 3TGT. This has been sandblasted and black powder coated
    - Front Apron
    - Stock D series diff
    - Front Garnish/Filler panels
    - Fuel tank w/ filler, fuel lid and key
    - Good condition steering column, steering box and associated steering linkages (pitman arm, drag link, etc).
    - Interior painted in black
    - Dash painted in Black Solid. Gives it an awesome gloss shine
    - 4 standard wheels, New wheels will need to be put on to clear the brake upgrade
    - Original compliance plates are also provided

    2) What has been modified on the shell
    - Battery box in the boot (passenger side). Comes w/ enough length positive cable, electrical distribution box for the engine bay for ancillary electronics, battery switch
    - Gearbox chassis mount has been moved back 2" to accomodate a W series box
    - Modified gearshift/tunnel opening to accomodate W series 18" gearbox shifter position. stock opening was moved back 2", but a stock T50 position should still be fine to use, i.e., no fouling of the tunnel.
    - Original engine bay battery location has had an opening made for a CAI. Comes with already mounted adaptor and new air filter
    - Brand new factory original sill used to fix rust problem area
    - All rust problems fixed with metal and minimal putty/bog
    - All sills, corners and doors have been professionaly sealed to prevent rust in future
    - Fully sealed underbody and wheel whells, again to prevent rust forming

    3) 300ZX Brake Upgrade
    - Sand blasted and black powder coated control arm w/ new bushes
    - sand blasted and black powder coated steering knuckle w/ new ball joint. Bolt holes modified to suit strut
    - MX73 struts which have been professional modified for the TA22
    - King Lowered Springs
    - KMAC sturt tops which are camber and castor adjustable
    - Cruzidas brake upgrade modification to accomodate skyline/300ZX brakes
    - Brand new DBA Z32 discs.
    - Brand new brake pads
    - Z32 4pot front calipers. The NISSAN name has been filed off and calipers painted in VHT red paint. calipers were rebuilt at time of purcahse and never used since. comes with retaining plates and pins
    - Willwood brake proportioning valve. Brand new in packaging
    - Stock TA22 brake booster which has been rebuilt by SAS in Silverwater
    - Celica GT4 15/16" master cylinder

    4) Other things to note
    - Alot of the screws, bolts, nuts and washers are missing. So a donor car would be required to get this car up and running.
    - There are a few scratches from years of storage, but no body damage.

Asking price $5000. This does not include freight or towing of any kind.

As a reference, to get the shell and brake upgrade to where it is now cost me over $15k. I have spoken to a number of members on the forum who have all said that their bare metal builds right now are costing $10k+ for the body alone which doesnt include the cost of sandlbast, towing to and fro, etc. So you can get everything for half price. My massive loss will be your gain.

I have checked ebay and gumtree and there are a few TA22s out there for $500-$1500. so you could have your self an awesome TA22 all done and dusted around $10k by swapping the parts from a cheap rusted car to this one.

I also have a heap of TA22 parts for sale.

Pics of the car uplodade to http://s90.photobucket.com/user/fade...TA22%20Rebuild.

Viewing of the car itself is welcome by prior arrangement. Please no time wasters as it is a hassle getting the car in and out of the garage everytime as there are belongings around the car.

    cheers

    Hi Fade-e,

    Couple of questions...

-Do you have anymore pics of the car? Recent ones if possible. Also most of the photos in your thread are no longer available.

Other than the engine/gearbox, what is missing from the car? eg does it have:
    -Interior - seats, trim etc?
    -windscreens/door glass?
    -brake lines?
    -Fuel lines?
    -Fuel tank?
    -Wiring looms?
    -Rubbers/seals?
    -Chrome trim
    -Door handles?

    Any further info appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Merlin

    hey mate,

all pics are in the photobucket link in OP. car is a bare shell with all panels. Also includes fuel tank and battery box in boot, other than that the OP states it all.

I have a few parts left from the build which can be worked into a deal. Pics below of remaining parts...

this will now be parted out if anyone is interested in panels and a brake upgrade.

car is a 74 model and therefore has the flat lipped guards and not the rounded guards.
