Default TA22 accelerator cable and pedal conversion

Hi guys, I have some kind of modified cable set up already, but is loose and untidy on the pedal end, just wondering what is the best or closest bolt in fit for changing my pedal to a cable and which cable to use in a TA22 with a 2tg, twin carb.
Even if I have to modify/weld the top of my pedal to mount a cable piece to it, what have other people done and used?
    Cheers.

    Brendon,

You can buy an aftermarket cable kit from Rare spares or similar shops and you can buy the cable clamping bolt for the top of your peddle.

You simply drill the top of the peddle, to take the bolt. The ball end at the carby is also available and just bolts on if the existing one is the wrong size.
Depending on what you have now you will need to make a bracket at the carby end. I will find a pic of mine when I can for you.

Otherwise I have used ST162 ones before or you can have custom cables made.

Just remember - The cable needs to be tight with the peddle on the floor - NOT tight when it's in the air. Your critical setting is WOT so you don't stretch and break cables.

    Brendan,
For a 2TG in a TA22 why don't you use the original linkage setup? The stock 2T bracket in the engine bay needs to be rotated 180 degrees and then it's a direct fit to the 2TG linkage. David at Sleeka spares should have what you need...

    Cheers,
    Simon

Simon, the car already has been converted to cable, just not very well on the pedal end of it though.

Rod, cheers I'll try get some pics up of what I have, it's the circle shape on the carbies to open the throttle, where the cable slots into the end, as for the pedal end it looks butchered with the cable going through a hole at the top of the pedal, but it doesn't locate tightly so the pedal is loose and has a lot of slack and free play before it takes up and opens throttle...
