Toymods 9th Annual Classic Celica Appreciation day.
Sunday 22nd of May 2016
Classic Celica Appreciation Day is a great family day out in a relaxing environment with a good BBQ and some wicked Celica's to admire. As we have done in previous years, we will be allowing all generations of Celica into the park with grouped parking for the Classic (70-77) and the Late Models.
Everyone is welcome !
You don't need to own or even want to own a Classic Celica to be part of the day but if you do own one, and you don't come, you need a slap in the back of the head. If you own a Classic Celica (running or not) or just wish you did then the Classic Celica Appreciation day is the one day of the year to make sure your available.
From the Sydney meet point we will cruise out to Wisemans Ferry and The Celica's will move into the park itself for some group shots and all others in attendance are encouraged to make the most of the great location and get some great pics in the park as well. There are some fantastic photo opportunities in the grounds for all so bring your cameras.
The Central Coast/Newcastle and Canberra guys & gals will of course meet up at their own respective meeting points and cruise up to Sydney, meeting us at either The Ettamogah Pub or at Wisemans Ferry.
The Wisemans Ferry destination is aimed at providing a suitable location (distance traveling wise) for both the Newcastle and Canberra crowd and we look forward to trying to break our Classic Celica attendance record.
For the Central Coast, Newcastle & Canberra Guys please let me know of your meet points and I'll post them below.
So Bring your Family, a full tank of fuel, money for the BBQ and something to sit on !!

In. I gotta try and do some work to the celica to make it look a bit more presentable this year!
Just realised it's been 6 years since I actually turned up to CCAD in a Celica...
AE102 - Charlene the Old Faithful, Reborn
JZZ30 - Lexi the Spacecruiser, 1JZGTE>>3SGE. 200rwkw, hunting Skylines and n00bs in SS Commodores
ST162 - Charlie the non-ghey Celica, 3SGE>>4AGE. GOOOOOOOONE
AE82 - Rosie the Bitsa from Hell, 70.8kw atw. Has been converted into garage space and money at last
KE55 - Billie the Beast, sadly missed
I'll be trying to attend. May have to bring the wagoon as I still haven't finalised Engineering on the 28 (but if it's Engineered in time, it'll be there!)
Cheers, Owen

Doing the things that aren't popular... cause being popular and being good are often distinctly different.
Seriously I want to come but I have a bad bearing noise in the gearbox, sounds like a gilmo drive. Also need some new wheels but not sure what to get, any idea guys?
Youhan
Could you give us more detail, such as noise gets worse when pushing clutch pedal in. Does the noise only happen under load and which gear is engaged or does it do it in neutral. Also if you know model of gearbox or model of car.
I know it is a lot of questions but more info, or short video or recording, more chance of reasonable diagnosis.
Very rare for Toyota bearings if looked after, as in servicing, to get that bad unless done massive ks. Most possible is clutch throwout bearing, they are a common wear item in most cars.
ToyJDM, as ToyTA22 mentioned, most common bearing failure in the gearbox area is the throw out or release bearing (same bearing - different names) These are a gearbox out item to swap but cheap and easily changed.
Very easy to test with the clutch peddle.
Wheels are a very personal choice - lots of Options. Daniel at JDM wheels brings in a lot of RWD Classic suitable stuff.

The bearing noise stops when I put the clutch down, I think its the first bearing cos my clutch is new only driven twice. Also I noticed that when I down shift I get a gear winding noise and its hard to get in first. Might need a rebuild.... Its 5spd S14 Nissan gearbox..
Might get some 18x7 and 18x9 hotwires, staggared look and to make it easy for steering. Not sure
Thanks guys

Awesome day as usual! Great turnout with a lot of cars new to the scene!
Big thanks to the board for putting on another great event!
Was a good day, thank you all for coming. Having the air league guys manning the bbq was great as it allowed more of us to mingle and chat with everyone that came out and supported the event. Here are some pics from the day:
