dont the 5ms ave hydraulic autos

and the 7mge auto is controlled by the engine ecu

and some of the 7mgte autos have a seperate ecu just for the auto

so if u get a 7mgte auto ecu it can be wired in to run ok

but could end up beng expensive say up to 1000 by time u finish especially
if u need speedo signals etc

The cressida also has it's own ecu to run the auto. I can get the auto for free.

In MX73 5M-E is hydraulic, 5M-GE is electronic.

I've never worked out the wiring on those autos but it would need at least one speed sensor input. I wouldn't know if the auto ecu needs the cluster speed signal (SP1 or SPD) or a form of output shaft speed signal (SP2) or both, but it needs something.

If you can at least borrow the box, compare and contrast the looms, because there's definitely possibility there.

I've wired a 7MGTE/A340E into an MX73 and since the auto ecu is part of the dash loom, I just reused the plug, and the 7MGTE ETC ecu plugged straight in, all the pins were the same.

So you should just need to get an A340E ecu, put the A340E in, and repin all the autobox plugs (if they are any different)

Or buy an MV automatics shift control box and remove the need for ECT altogether?
