Default Removal of MZ21 EMV screen

    g'day!

just a question regarding the removal (or otherwise) of the EMV screen in the dash and huge control unit in the boot of my MZ21.

is there any reasons against removing said items?

what functions will i loose through removing these bits?

i want to install an all new stereo so i want as much space as possible, both in the dash and boot. i know it will probably be a fair bit of work, so is there someone out there who has performed this work on a soarer?

    cheers

It's pretty easy to do, but the unit from the boot is wired into the wiring harness.

Resulting in many things not working when you unplug it.

If you remove it well all the functions that it controls you wont be able to control anymore. example: Suspension height, aircon(is this in the emv cant remember) etc.

The box in te boot (depending on what model you have) controls, touchscreen aircon and radio, and tv.

So they work if you remove it.

hmmm ok.. im pretty sure the emv doesnt control the aircon.. but if you say that unit on the boot does then ive got a problem!! idealy i dont want the unit in there, but aircon is always good in winter (the heater anyways!)

will it be ok to unplug the looms from the unit and see what each disables??

the model by the way is a 1988 MZ21 and the air suspension has been removed so there is no worries there...

    cheers

It only controls the aircon if you have the 87 touch screen climate control
