Aftermarket fuel pump, put a genuine one in if you want it to be quiet
Hi all,
Had the fuel pump in my Rav4 die on me the other day and changed it out with a new Fuelmiser unit from Ripco. Fired it up and it's making a quite audible whine/buzz. I can here it if the radios off and it is easily heard from outside the car. Am I likely to have a dodgy pump or could I have a blockage issue? Is there an easy way to test without just throwing new parts into the system? I'll probably start with a new fuel filter as that should be relatively cheap but I don't want to start buying pressure regulators or even a fuel pressure test kit if I can avoid it. Any suggestions on easy checks I can do to isolate the issue would be appreciated.

Turned out it was the fuel filter getting clogged up. Seems they don't always last as long as they indicate. Much quieter now with the new filter inline.
