Default Replacement hub/brake setups for TA22 - strictly racing

OK so I've done plenty of searches on this and responses generally are to do with engineering/registration issues so I am now at a loose end...

I need to replace the hubs on my TA22 for a number of reasons...larger brake discs and options (TA22 brake upgrades are almost nil unless a full replacement of struts etc takes place), PCD options (most likely 100x4 I guess) and also to replace the rear drums with discs.

Bearing in mind that this vehicle will never be registered - it's a straight short-course car, caged etc etc and will end up with 210+HP are there any simple options for what I'm after?

    Any experience/suggestions welcome

The stub axles on your TA22 struts are small. If you're looking at upgrading then consider a whole new strut with bigger stub axle. RA28 (I think) and RA40 spring to mind. But if you're going to that extent there are gallons of options, look into brake upgrades for older Celicas and Sprinters and you will find lots.

On the rear, I'd recommend changing to an RA23/28 diff housing (same track width as TA22, but with bigger axle bearings) and using the Corona disc brake upgrade. This remains 4 x 114.3 PCD.

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.

I would highly recommend going up a stub axle size.

As for brake upgrades here are three ive used:

    Corona Peugot Hilux

280mm MPV disc, Mazda RX7 caliper

    BA Falcon disc, Wilwood caliper.

Ascending order in terms of effectiveness, and cost. Descending order in terms of ease of construction, and ease of fitting under wheels.

    As for the rears:

Thats my option, fits on a AE86 JDM T-series rear, but could probably be adapted for others.

Brilliant, thanks to you both...you've also given me plenty of search options so I can find more information on these.
    Cheers!

I'm the guy who picked up Chris' MPV/RX7 setup. I've got a TA23 and had to replace the strut/stub axle assembly, was $120 from sleeka spares for ones out of a 28 (paid more for express postage lol), needed a custom caliper bracket which Chris already had made up and I'm having the hub machined down to 141mm to fit the rotor ($40), but it all looks easy bolt up from there.

Parts are easier than the pug/lux/rona to find. Shitload cheaper than a wilwood or hopper stoppers setup.

It's looking good so far but not completely installed, just some partial fitting. Small increase in track width (8mm per side) but within legal limits if you are keen on that sort of thing.
I'll be able to let you know hopefully within a week how it fits.

What rear brake setup is that takai? Looks like a S13/R33 caliper?

So while we are thread digging, whats so bad about the small stub axles? Ive been bushbashing and jumping small stubbed toyotas for years, aswell as the usual autocross/trackdays and have never had a stub failure. Was actually thinking of doing a big brake conversion to my TA22 struts for my AE71 since I have a set here.
